The Steamship Authority has voted again to raise rates across the board to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. That includes passenger fares, vehicle fares, and parking fees. If you have travel cards, now is the time to refill them. You can also purchase ticket books now pre-price increase that have no expiration date. The new rates take effect 1/3/2023. Off-islanders can purchase a Nantucket Beach Driving Permit at a $50 discount up until June 30th. Learn more about the rules and prices here. If you purchase up to and including April 30th, the Police Department will mail them to you for free.

On January 12, 2023, Kathleen A. Duncombe, of Nantucket, passed away at age 73. Services are being planned for the spring. She owned and operated Made on Nantucket on Old South Wharf. Upcoming Events
The 47th annual Nantucket Daffodil Festival will be taking place on April 27th – April 30th, 2023. As spring begins to bloom on Nantucket, so do millions of colorful Daffodils. Highlighting this three day event is an antique and classic car parade with over 100 vehicles decorated with daffodils.

The annual Figawi Race will be taking place on May 26th – 29th, 2023. Events include a boat race (power and sail) from Hyannis to Nantucket, a post race cocktail party, and a clambake and a return race from Nantucket to Hyannis. More comprehensive information can be obtained by visiting the official Figawi website. This race, which started over 30 years ago, has grown to one of the largest sailboat races on the East coast. This weekend is full of fun.
