Nantucket Daffodil Festival

The Nantucket Daffodil Festival will be taking place this year on April 25 – 27th, 2008. As spring begins to bloom on Nantucket, so do millions of colorful Daffodils. Highlighting this three day event is an antique and classic car parade with over 100 vehicles decorated with daffodils.

Annual Figawi Race

The 33rd annual Figawi Race will be taking place this year on May 23 – 26, 2008. Events include a boat race (power and sail) from Hyannis to Nantucket, a post race cocktail party, and a clambake and a return race from Nantucket to Hyannis. More comprehensive information can be obtained by visiting the official Figawi website. This race, which started over 30 years ago, has grown to one of the largest sailboat races on the East coast. This weekend is full of fun.

Circus Flora

The Nantucket Atheneum presents a circus by the sea! Come experience the magic, the wonder, the beauty and the spectacle of this one-ring, European style circus! Performances over the weekend of July 25 – 27, 2008, 3:00 and 7:00, at Tom Nevers Field on Nantucket. General admission tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for children and may be purchased online at www.nantucketatheneum.org/circus/ starting June 1st, or at the Nantucket Atheneum, 1 India Street, Nantucket beginning July 1. Boston Pops on Nantucket

The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra will be performing again on Jetties Beach to benefit the Nantucket Cottage Hospital. The date is Saturday, August 9th, 2008. Past Pops concerts have had up to 14,000 people attend. This is a great social event that routinely sells out. Tickets are now limited to 8,000 to keep the size of the crowd in line with the beach capacity. Reserved tickets are now on sale online only. 33rd Annual Sandcastle & Sculpture Day

On August 16th, 2008 islanders and visitors alike will create masterpiece sandcastles and sand sculptures on Jetties Beach. This is an afternoon contest and ribbons are awarded in various categories. For more information, please call 508-228-1700.

The Nantucket Christmas Stroll

The Nantucket Christmas Stroll will take place this year on December 5 – 7, 2008. If you've never been to an 'off season' event on Nantucket, this is one to attend. Hope for cold weather and a little snow to go along with a nice warm place to stay at night. Main Street is closed to vehicles on Saturday and there are many events going on. The 2002 stroll which had great weather. We also have many photos from the 2003 stroll which had horrible weather as a nor'easter decided to rule the stroll weekend. 2004 had absolutely great stroll weather.
