Friday Afternoon/Evening Photos
The 2006 Nantucket Christmas Stroll started out balmy but very windy which resulted in another pretty rough ride on the 12 noon trip of the Hy-Line fast ferry Grey Lady (same as 2005). Subsequent trips grew progressively worse with the Grey Lady leaving for the last time at 7:30 p.m. for Hyannis with the remaining trips canceled due to very rough conditions. Friday evening was a mix of dry spells and wind blown driving rain. The SSA Flying Cloud did not make trips Friday evening/night because of high winds and large waves. |

Saturday
Saturday's weather was sunny, brisk, windy and cold. Perfect weather except for the wind. The "Find Your Twin And Win" game was canceled again this year. There were a lot of disappointed people roaming Main Street. This is the second year in a row this has happened. Hello Nantucket Merchants Association where are you? Perhaps it's time for someone else to step in here and save something very important to the stroll.

Sunday
Sunday morning turned out to be cold and sunny with relatively calm winds. The ride home was much smoother than on the way over on Friday afternoon.
