IslandofNantucket.info Featured Site

This month's feature is the Brant Point Inn & Atlantic Mainstay. The Brant Point Inn & Atlantic Mainstay is an inn that is comprised of two beautiful post and beam buildings owned by Thea and Peter Kaizer. The hospitality is second to none while the rates reasonable. If you decide to book a reservation with Thea and Peter, please tell them you saw their inn featured on IslandofNantucket.info.

The two buildings sit side by side on North Beach Street just a very short walk from town. The Atlantic Mainstay, shown here in the photograph, is located on the right. The Brant Point Inn sits directly to the left and has a 'widows walk'. A widows walk is simply a deck built on the top of the roof that you can climb up on to see some great views of the island. Almost every home on Nantucket has one. Click here to see the 360 degree view from the Brant Point Inn widows walk.

Atlantic Mainstay
Sitting Room

Shown here on the left is the main sitting room on the first floor where the continental breakfasts are served. The authors of this website have had many twenty minute breakfasts turn in to two hour conversations with other vistors. Even though she is very busy, Thea always seems to have time to sit down and join the guests conversations while having a cup of coffee or two. There is also a large Belgian block fireplace in this room.

Come on up the staircase and check out the second floor...

Stairs
Second Floor

This is a second floor room in the Atlantic Mainstay. The rooms are very well kept and roomy. Each room has a fan for the rare occasion that you may need it. Being in the gulf stream, the climate on Nantucket is very temperate. Summer nights can actually be cool where a sweater might be required. Air conditioners on Nantucket are rare. They usually aren't needed.

Just another view of the same room. If you've never stayed in a post and beam home, this is your chance to do it in style.

Second Floor
Lighthouse

Just a little reminder that you are a short walk from the Brant Point Lighthouse. This lighted dish can be seen on the desk in the front hall entry of the Atlantic Mainstay.
