2014 Nantucket Christmas Stroll Report — The 2014 Nantucket Christmas Stroll was very similar the 2003 Nantucket Christmas Stroll. Cold on Friday, nasty rain on Saturday, high winds and stranded passengers on Sunday. Oh and the deficient Steamship Authority communications too. Most, but not all boats were canceled on Sunday. There were long lines at the Steamship with a lot a frayed nerves and turned away passengers. Passengers with canceled high speed ferry tickets get slow boat priority over those without tickets no matter how long they stand in line. Probably there were about 2000-2500 people that got off Nantucket on Sunday. The rest were stuck until Monday. Tuesday brought another Nor'easter with more boat cancellations.
