Summer 2011 Nantucket Photos — Rumor has it that July was dead on Nantucket, at least until the last weekend of July. Economic effects are still taking it's toll on discretionary spending. As far as weather, the July 2011 mirrored July 2010. Hot and dry but very humid. So dry that it was another poor year for hydrangeas. The only hydrangeas that did well this summer were those in the shade that were watered.
